God has called the Fraley Family out of the military and into ministry
We are Tony and Melissa Fraley. In 2015, we felt God calling us out of the military and onto the mission field. We were not sure what that looked like in the beginning, only that we knew God was telling us to GO. We assumed that meant we would be going to a foreign mission field, but as we prayed about where God wanted us to go, one place came up over and over again. That place was New York City. In 2016, we were approved by our sending church as missionaries and are currently raising support to be church planting missionaries in New York City. We know that God is calling us to plant multiple churches throughout all five boroughs. We are so passionate about the mission God has given us. We love the people of New York City and are eager to get there and share the love and hope of Jesus Christ.
Tony grew up in the military so he moved around as a child. At the age of eleven, his family moved to Texas where he lived until he joined the US Navy in 2002. Nine years later, he began to pursue a real relationship with the Lord. It was during that time that God put it on his heart to go into ministry. He went back to college and received a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies as well as a Master's of Arts in Apologetics. He is currently working on his Master's of Divinity and will complete that in November 2019. Along with fulfilling his contract with the Navy, he served as the middle school pastor at our church for three years.
Melissa was born and raised in a small town outside of Waco, Texas. She is the youngest of six children and grew up in church. She was saved when she was eight years old. She dreamed of two things when she was growing up: being a mom and living in New York City. It still amazes her that God has not only given her five beautiful children but is sending her to the city of her dreams. She is a stay-at-home mom and homeschools her children. She loved serving alongside Tony in the middle school class at church. She was very shy and quiet most of her life but it was through that ministry that God showed her that He had a far bigger plan for her than she imagined and gave her the confidence to step out of her comfort zone and be bold in her faith.
We have five children. Our two adult daughters, Emily and Kendall, live in Springfield and are both engaged to be married later this year. We have three children still living at home: Willow, Jackson, and Luna. Willow is thirteen years old and loves reading and art. Jackson is seven years old and is full of energy! He loves to build things with Legos, puzzles and reading. Luna is the youngest and she is all girl! She especially loves cats, drawing and stuffed animals.
We were inspired and encouraged by another missionary to ask, expect and dream BIG and that is exactly what we are doing. Our family is so excited to be on this journey and our prayer is that God will send us people willing to partner with us as we pursue God’s plan for our lives.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us.” - Ephesians 3:20
